The Lights Were Always On
Dr. Dean grew up in her parents’ lighting store. They did not have college degrees. What they had was a belief that the life they wanted for their children would not be handed to them; it would be built one long day at a time. She spent her childhood in the aisles of that store, watching her father’s patience with a difficult customer and her mother’s precision in every order. When sales were slow and suppliers were late, they did not complain and they did not quit. They showed up, day after day.
That is where her work ethic was forged. It taught her that nothing worth having comes easily, and that grit is not about never feeling tired; it is about moving forward anyway. She carries that into her medicine today.

She earned her medical degree at the University of Florida and completed her residency at Kaiser Permanente in Woodland Hills. Her aesthetics training came under a well-known Los Angeles physician known for celebrity treatment work.
